Borofloat® Glass

There are three types of glass used in constructing fireplaces: Tempered, Ceramic and Borofloat®. Tempered glass has good physical strength (you can hit it hard and it will not break), but it does not have great heat strength and can crack if it gets too hot. Ceramic glass has great heat strength, but less physical strength. Borofloat glass has BOTH great physical strength and heat strength rated to 932 degrees F. Kozy Heat fireplaces have only top quality tempered Borofloat glass.

THE Strictest Testing Standards

The fireplace industry’s ANSI (American National Standards Institute) require that one out of every 100 fireplaces that come out of the plant be tested. This is the industry standard. At Kozy Heat, they TEST EACH AND EVERY FIREPLACE. Each control board is tested for leaks, pressure, millivolts and safety to ensure all the components are working to Kozy Heat standards. No one else can make this claim.
